The Moving Company
Spring 2024 - Present
I joined The Moving Company in the spring of 2024. I've always loved to dance and I really loved how anyone could join the club even if they didn't have the dance experience. I'm so happy I found a community that I really felt as home in. When I joined everyone was so welcoming and I made friends quick. I got to meet so many people of different majors and I really liked that I get the chance to network also. I was also elected by my peers as president elect for the 2025-2026 school year and president for the 2026-2027 school year.

During this class, me and my fellow classmates learned the steps and tools on how to create a resistance training and cardiorespiratory activity for a client or class. We had four projects consisting of explaining and teaching an exercise, explaining and teaching of a warmup, teaching a 45 minute resistance training session, and finally teaching a 45 minute cardiorespiratory activity.
I believe that taking this class really helped me be more confident in presenting in front of a class and groups. This class has also help me understand what type of clients I could deal with in the future for the profession I hope to pursue and how to prescribe them exercises. I feel as though I have more of an understanding of how different exercises affect different muscles and the body.

Spring 2025
In this class, my peers and I participated and learned many different components to exercise science. A couple of things that we learned was anaerobic vs aerobic exercise, injury prevention, cardiac rehab, nutrition, and much more. We also participated in many labs such as water aerobics, cycling, juggling and more as well. During this class we also had to create a exercise video and participate in an exercise that was similar to a 5K.
I have thought this class was really helpful. I think that all the points highlighted in the class will help my peers and I in the future with future clients. I think that when we learned the exercise scale it was pretty crucial in how we give clients exercises in the future. This class has also opened my eyes to things that I wouldn't have tried before such as water aerobics and cycling. I also liked that we were introduced to injury prevention and common athletic injuries so that when we work in the future we can be more mindful.

Camp Brosius
Summer 2025
During Camp Brosius, has really opened up my eyes to my personal development. Before I got there I truly despised going. I thought that this was a waste of my time and that I didn't need to do it. I was very wrong, I really needed this camp. I found that going to this camp has really helped me understand myself not only as a leader but also as a person.
At first my group knew we weren't going to be the strongest group but that was okay with us. Throughout the week we not only succeeded in challenges but also failed at some challenges as well. But through the week we really came together as a group and helped one another out during challenges if we saw any bit of struggling. My team really showed how close we had gotten when we got to a challenge one of our team members was having trouble with and was getting upset, but we reassured them and made them feel as supported as possible and that they were doing as much as they could and that was okay.
Overall I believe that this was a very useful week of activities and bonding.
